Four slates are shown front and back, cleaned, and then two are chosen. The spectator holds them in their own hands. A spooky story is then told. When the slates are separated, ghostly chalk writing appears on one of the slates! Everything can then be examined! There are no flaps, chemicals or electronics used. It is real magic!

The Daley Slates are Osterlind Mysteries tribute to Doc Daley and his wonderful routine, Ultra Slate Message. You'll receive four beautiful slates, 5 x 6 inches in size, handmade by our master craftsman, Ray the Mysterious! (Ray is the person responsible for Classic Epic, Whispering Die, the Devil Device and many of our other fine products.) The Daley Slates are made with the same precision and attention to detail as his other creations. Each one is fashioned from medium-density fiberboard to avoid warping, with rounded corners for ease of use, with two coats of tough primer for durability and then two coats of blackboard paint. With a bit of care, these slates will last a lifetime.
